Founded in 2012

InVintaged is a small indie label dedicated to all things vintage-inspired.

The first two costuming gigs I can recall occurred when I was a child. The first being driven by my absolute obsession with the 1939 film Gone With the Wind and is described in more detail HERE. The second is linked to the above mentioned obsession and happened when I was in year 8 at school. I was able to convince my teacher to let me redesign the history assessment she had given us, she allowed me, nay empowered me to research and construct a gown from the 1850s, basically it was just an excuse for me to dress up like Scarlet O’Hara for a day. Since this time I have continued to dabble and maintain an absolute fascination for historical costuming, style and etiquette and the power it has on society and culture past present and into the future.

I have been involved in theatrical costume design for almost 30 years and in that time I have had countless friends and acquaintances ask if I would design, create, make garments for them which I have enjoyed doing.  however it wasn't until recently that I decided that I might like to turn my hand to designing on a more full time basis as I had not often thought beyond my theatrical roots.  This is when I began to look towards what I adore, that being classical, vintage inspired styles, I have a vast vintage collection, dating from the late Victorian era, and this is what has inspired me to take this next step and develop my dream of InVintaged.
